We are privileged to be working with one of the best Accounting services clients within the UK, who now have an exciting opportunity for two VAT assistants to join their growing team on a full time permanent basis.

Job Description:

We are working with a renowned and respected business who are experts within the area of VAT and accounting services. With an eye for detail and a commitment to handling their client's affairs with a high degree of professionalism, they have carved out a reputation within the industry as being the 'go to' compliance firm.

They now have multiple opportunities for VAT assistants to join them on a permanent basis. As the VAT assistant you will be expected to use a combination of skills and technology to provide their clients with the best possible service in respect of their VAT affairs.

Qualifying criteria:

  • You have a minimum of 1 years' experience working within an accounting environment or are currently working towards a relevant qualification
  • You must be able to work with Microsoft Excel at an advanced level
  • You have a basic understanding of the Making Tax Digital for VAT implementation
  • You have a general understanding of the Flat Rate VAT scheme
  • You are a good communicator both written and verbally

Your daily duties will be to:

  • Preparing quarterly VAT Returns under the Flat rate VAT scheme
  • Producing client VAT account reconciliations
  • Resolving queries relating to VAT affairs
  • Raise weekly payment instructions to clients and/or HMRC
  • Deal directly with HMRC on clients behalf
  • Speak to clients on the phone and via email
  • Register a client for Self-Assessment and VAT
